Nothing special here, folks. This book pretty much is a duplicate of The Assignment; however, this time O'Brien goes undercover alone, without his partner and lover Valenti, who (after O'Brien fails to "check in"), is forced to come to O'Brien's rescue! It's the same plot also: some bad guy using gay men to star in his porn videos - only these porn videos include painful and deadly sex. Valenti comes to the rescue, but oh, no! - their cover has been blown and now the bad guy says they gotta do "stuff" to each other that's going to be video taped (oh, the horror! the horror!) - in order to survive.I was really disappointed; I'd rather have read about the developing relationship between these two police officers. Like, have they suffered any reprocusions at work and if so, how did they handle it. Are O'Brien and Valenti going to move forward in their relationship and move in together? Or is this just about having sex when you need to escape an investigation that's gone wrong?
Anyway, save your money folks; I don't want you to be disappointed like I was!

This is a complete rip off. This is almost exactly like The Assignment, with just some very minor changes and a lot shorter! If felt like I was reading the same book in a condensed version just with a new villain. I can't believe the author pawned this off as a new story and the publisher let her.
This book is a nice enjoyable read. Evangeline Anderson produced another good book as always. I love all her books.
This an awesome sequel to The Assignment. Totally worth reading.
I have read all four of the stories in this series specific to Sean O'Brien and Nick Valenti and there are more books to come about these two lovers. They are fairly well written, and the characters are very likable, not perfect but quite human. I am a sucker for true love! I would like to see the characters to develop a bit more, but they are certainly Hot & Steamy together.
I have read all four novels and I always think of Starsky and Hutch when I read these books. Although the coloring for the characters is opposite from the old cop show. I love how the couple deal with their feelings and learn to deal with each other. Some may review it poorly, but I enjoy getting to know the characters in the books.
I enjoyed this book. It is very similar to The Assignment, as the other reviewers stated, but I liked the switch in roles in this one. While still following Valenti's POV, I felt it was a good delving into O'Brian's character, showing us how he reacts under pressure and how he feels for his partner. I almost think of it as the opposite of the original. I enjoy that kind of thing and seeing how different characters react to similar events, so I felt this was a good, interesting book. Plus, I feel that Evangeline Anderson is one of the better M/M writers out there. Just know what to expect with this one.
